UPS: I just realized this is ask fedora, are questions for other distro's frowned upon?

I would really appreciate if someone knew how to install the driver on my CentOS 6.5. I've been trying with different drivers but I never know what I gotten done, I do what I can and wait for it to come in, but then it doesn't and I think it's the wrong driver. But maybe I'm doing it wrong and one of them was the right one.

Here's what I did: Tried to install the default driver from the download site, found here: unzip the files and tar

]$ sudo tar xvf rtl8712_8188_8191_8192SU_usb_linux_v2.6.6.0.20100625.tar.gz

cd into the root driver directory,

sudo -s make

Output from make:

This one was successful.

Here is the outpout lshw command afterwards:

sudo lshw -c network -sanitize

As I said: do not use sudo make - use sudo -s make. Why have you changed the driver? The original driver rtl8712_8188_8191_8192SU_usb_linux_v2.6.6.0.20100625.tar.gz compiles and installs fine for me on RHEL6 x86_64 - just verify whether it works.

Just pointing out that things that work on a CentOS installation may or may not work on a Fedora installation, and vice versa. There are quite a few changes between Fedora and CentOS releases.

@FranciscoD_ - these drivers do not compile on Fedora (they are for 2.6 kernels).

When installing, you need sudo -s make install and not sudo make install . See http://askubuntu.com/questions/64178/why-is-sudo-s-better-than-sudo-su . Please update your question with relevant instructions that show what you did.
