I used the same live image to install F20 that I used some months ago. (A package install was giving me errors in the dependency checking, and there were other problems so I decided to start clean.)

During the install, at the disk partition step, I was asked for a password for an encrypted partition. I provided it. After providing it / and /home appeared.

The install seemed to go well, but upon boot the encrypted partition is in /dev/mapper but is not mounted. When I try to mount it manually I get the error "mount: unknown filesystem type 'LVM2_member'"

Install created a new /home and left the encrypted home directory umounted. It did create a map for the original home directory as /dev/mapper/fedora-home (which is why I couldn't map it). I moved install home and mounted /dev/mapper/fedora-home. I made an fstab entry for it.

That almost worked, but apparently the prior config data in the user directory caused the user login to fail. The login brought up a black screen then went back to the gdm login page. So I moved the dot files from the install /home/user directory and now the user can log in, though his gnome settings are defaults.
