Yesterday Netbeans' 8.0 version was released. I have v7.4 installed on a fedora20 64bit.

As it is not installed with yum I don't know how to upgrade keeping all my projects and configuration, and couldn't find any information on the web.

What steps should I follow? Any information would be welcome. Thank you!

Unfortunately, netbeans is unmaintained in Fedora. No one appears to be using it enough to take the responsibility of keeping it up to date in the repositories. Unless someone takes it up, you'll have to use the binaries upstream provides. You cannot update it using yum.

If you're interested in maintaining the package, please look at the following links:

Not really. I haven't used netbeans from the binary. Please download the bundle and check the documentation that is included. If you run into issues, you can ask more questions here.
