Skipping audio when I connect to my TV

I'm using fedora 20 on my Lenovo T530. Currently in Windows 7 and previously in Linuxmint, I had no issues connecting my tv to my laptop via a mini HDMI cable; no sound or video issues.

Now though using Fedora 20, the video works fine but sound skips badly when I connect my tv to my laptop.

What can I do?

Are you attempting to emit the sound from your laptop through your TV over the HDMI connection, or are you using your laptop speakers (or some other speaker solution)?

I'm trying to have the audio come out of the tv. It works but it skips continously. When I switch the sound output back to the laptop speakers it works fine.

Sounds like the problem is with either the HDMI driver, HDMI cable, or the TV. Are you able to rule out the cable and the TV?
