I'm using Fedora 20, trying to install Catalyst driver for my graphic card because it isn't supported by the opensource driver yet... (I can't select the HDMI audio output)

But when I'm trying to install it fails saying that need to check the dependencies and generate a log file.

I have looked the file and say it's a kernel header file isn't found. Even with it installed:

yum install kernel-header kernel-devel -y

The error log:

Supported adapter detected.
Check if system has the tools required for installation.
fglrx installation requires that the system have kernel headers for 3.7 release. /lib/modules/3.11.10-301.fc20.x86_64/build/include/generated/uapi/linux/version.h cannot be found on this system.
One or more tools required for installation cannot be found on the system. Install the required tools before installing the fglrx driver.
Optionally, run the installer with --force option to install without the tools.
Forcing install will disable AMD hardware acceleration and may make your system unstable. Not recommended.

Have you looked at - personally i would switch to Fedora 19 and yum install kmod-catalyst after enabling rpmfusion.

Yes I have searched a lot before post here, I know this topic, but it doesn't fix the dependencies problem, is another stuff related after. And for the lastest beta 14 version doesn't need to do this change anymore. I'm thinking about switch to Fedora 19 again... But I want to empty my possibilities before.

Which dependencies (yum install kernel-devel kernel-headers ?), have you googled the precise error messages? What about ?

You might be missing some dependencies:

Install gcc, binutils make, kernel-devel, kernel-headers and dkms using your favorite package manager. I recommend Yum (or the graphical Yumex):

After you su to root, use this line in a terminal to install them all:

# yum install gcc binutils make kernel-devel kernel-headers dkms

Thanks for this reply, in my case I only had to do apt-get install dkms for the currect header files to be downlloaded, I was getting the error and when I relaunched the installer after getting the dkms package, it went smooth. :D Thanks!

I've seen this link, they don't talk about this dependence error :(

Which kernel are you running? uname -r - do you have kernel-devel package installed which corresponds to the running kernel rpm -q kernel-devel-$(uname -r)?
