how to play .mkv in fedora 20

fedora reply missing codecs. And automatic search is failed to find please guide me the proper way to add missing codecs.

You probably want to add the rpmfusion repo, just like mastershadow recommended. More info: http://rpmfusion.org/

After that, you can install the relevant gstreamer packages, and your favorite video player should work. Popular ones are VLC and mplayer. I think the right codecs get installed if you 'yum install mplayer' (after you've enabled the rpmfusion repos, of course).
