fedora not supporting realtek driver

i am having hp comaq elite microtower pc which i have made server with fedora os. The problem is network connection is showing cross sign.I have downloaded the linux network driver from realtek site and tried to patch it but the below prescribed error is showing

I have used the below commands:-

su -

yum install gcc kernel-devel kernel-headers patch make

and the below error is showing

[root@localhost /]# yum install gcc kernel-devel kernel-headers patch make
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again
[root@localhost /]#

Can you edit your question and add the output of following commands ? lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 net and dmesg | egrep -i 'wlan|wifi|wlp|eth|em'

If we are talking here about Fedora 14, we cannot help. Please upgrade to a more recent and supported version (Fedora 19, Fedora 20)

yum install is failing because you don't have network access and it can't load remote's repository data (and you're trying to install the C compiler and kernel headers).

Be more descriptive about the problem you have. A simple yum error cannot say much. Try sudo yum clean all & sudo yum update
