If my lock screen comes on as a result of user inactivity half the time when I take control of the mouse I will not be able to slide up the login form or click the power down buttons.

Any idea why this might be happening?

What if you hit the space bar or any keys other than ctrl, alt (These are supposed to wake the display but not remove the shield so you can see your notifications)? The shield is supposed to move off with any keyboard presses or if dragged upwards using the mouse.

I generally just hit space and start typing my password. Pretty convenient :)
