Hey, guys!

This question is auto-descriptive by the title, but lets expose further details.

The goal

Upgrade from Fedora 19 to 20 without lose my installed applications and programs.

The problem

Someone knows if this behavior is natural? I mean, if I upgrade, will I lost something? If yes, there's something that can I do?

You will not lose your application when you update a Fedora box from one version to another. However, some applications might fail to work (but this is very rare and normally, just updating this application make it work again).

Also, the previous comment about making your system slow is false. Updating your installation from one version to another is correct.

It seems that the fed-up upgrade procedure downloads the new RPMs and installs them.

I don't think there has been any MAJOR change (different file system organization or systemd introduction) in F20.

Anything that would not be broken by a simple yum update SHOULD not be broken by a Fedup upgrade.

Is there any software from non-fedora/RPM fusion repositories that you are particularly scared of?

Note: I've used FedUp for both my laptop and desktop.

If you upgrade, you do not lose yours applications. But you can have a slow machine. What is advisable to make him a backup Make a fresh install, and do recover from their applications.

Probably when you upgrade F19->F20 you do not lose yours apps.

I did it and it appears my apps work.

You can insert here the applications are using or in doubt.
