akmod-nvidia caused the system not to boot

I have always installed nvidia drivers with the command 'yum install akmod-nvidia' and it used to work fine, but now after restart the booting process would stopped at 'Starting ...(services)' and would refuse to respond. What could be the problem? My laptop has a GeForce 9300M GS card.

I have the same problem. The nvidia drivers worked just fine on fedora 20 beta.

Try to get into the cmd line by using runlevel 3 by temporarily modifying grub. (Google: " GRUB2 runlevel 3 - If Not True Then False " if you don't know how, I can't post links, should be first link)

I'm guessing here that you just need to install the kernel-devel package (I had what sounds as the exact same problem), so you should just need to log into root and run

yum install kernel-devel

To test if this is really what you need and its not something else, you can try

akmod --force

and see if it fails on the second check. Otherwise, you'll need to run standard checks of whether nouveau is actually getting blacklisted and if your xorg.conf (located at /etc/X11/xorg.conf) checks out. But I'm pretty sure it's just the kernel-devel issue, but if its not just let me know. :)

Installing kernel-devel before akmod-nvidia did solve the problem. Thanks.

But another problem arises, the installed driver does not seem to be working, when I visit get.webgl.org I found webgl is not enabled.

No, it's just Google Chrome disabled webgl by default.
