Hi I tried to install the nvidia proprietary drivers from Fusion repository and after first boot the Xserver doesn't load. I tried to manually start X and the error message was "Can't find nvidia modules". After removing akmod* the sistem start just fine.

Try installing kernel-devel and see if that resolves your issue, as it did for me. I noticed the problem when I attempted to use

akmod --force

and it gave an error on its second check which was something like "Is kernel-devel latest? FAIL" (I can't remember the exact feedback it gave). After installing kernel-devel

yum install kernel-devel

and rerunning akmod --force, no errors were given and a reboot had everything working well for me. It appears that in order for akmod to function properly, it requires kernel-devel (perhaps it should be considered a dependency?). Hopefully your issue is the same as mine and this helps.

Nope. Kernel-devel is already installed

Hmm, the only other thing I could think of is to test if nouveau is being blacklisted properly, check your graphics card to make sure it doesn't need the legacy driver, or to check your xorg.conf. Other than that, I'm out of ideas, sadly.

YOU are a genius. I reinstalled fedora and first installed kernel-devel and to my surprise it worked.
