I am using Fedora18 KDE, How can I run vlc as root? It was given there for using VLC-WRAPPER (set-UID as root) I did but still vlc is not running.

You absolutely should not run VLC as root. There is no reason to do so. I'm not scaremongering, or being overly cautious out of paranoia, so let me be clear:

there is nothing VLC does that requires root privileges.

You have no reason to need this. VLC is not an administrative application, so it does not need to be run with the administration account. Just run user applications as a normal user.

Run this command from your terminal login as root user

sed -i 's/geteuid/getppid/g' /usr/bin/vlc

then run

vlc
