After some upgrades, I have in my system duplicated packages:

# yum check all
Loaded plugins: changelog, merge-conf, versionlock
usbmuxd-1.0.8-9.fc20.x86_64 is a duplicate with usbmuxd-1.0.8-8.fc20.x86_64
usbmuxd-1.0.8-10.fc20.x86_64 is a duplicate with usbmuxd-1.0.8-9.fc20.x86_64

When I try to remove it I got this error:

Running transaction
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.jHVMMv: line 1: fg: no job control
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.jHVMMv: line 3: fg: no job control
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.jHVMMv: line 5: fg: no job control
error: %preun(usbmuxd-1.0.8-8.fc20.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 1
Error in PREUN scriptlet in rpm package usbmuxd-1.0.8-8.fc20.x86_64

I tried package-cleanup --cleandupes and removing from yumex but it doesn't help. DO you have any suggestions how to fix it?

Try this:

# rpm -e --noscripts usbmuxd-1.0.8-8.fc20.x86_64

And be careful, you are running an Alpha release :)

Better use this command, those alpha releases can cause a lot of duplicity.

package-cleanup --cleandupes

This is absurd; you're responding to a question that was answered over a year ago.

I believe people come over here looking for solutions for similar problems, just like I did. Also thought that I had a better solution for this particular case.

I had some 500 packages duplicated. I solved the issue, but I have no recipe, I have a lengthy blog post instead.

The page that url brings up is blank, and the question you're replying to is almost a year old.
