How are you installing OpenOffice? What steps are you following? It looks like there's a rpm missing.

I'll give you a procedure that worked for me.

1 - Download Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0 Linux Package

Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0 32-bit version

wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/4.0.0/binaries/en-US/Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0_Linux_x86_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz/download -O Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0_Linux_x86_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz

Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0 64-bit version

wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/4.0.0/binaries/en-US/Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz/download -O Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz

2 - Change to root User

su -

3 - Remove OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice.org Packages with following command

yum remove openoffice* libreoffice*

4 - Extract Package and Access Directory Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0

tar -xvf Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0*

cd en-US

5 - Block openoffice.org-ure and libreoffice-ure package updates

In other words, “pin” openoffice.org-ure and libreoffice-ure packages Add exclude row to /etc/yum.conf file, under the section [main]:

Edit file

nano -w /etc/yum.conf

Add exclude row

[main]

exclude=openoffice.org-ure* libreoffice-ure*

6 - Install / Update Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0 RPM packages

rpm -Uvh RPMS/*.rpm RPMS/desktop-integration/openoffice.org4.0-redhat-*.rpm

7 - Start Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0

Start OpenOffice with Clicking Icons (found normally from menus) or Start OpenOffice with Following Command:

openoffice4

Please use comments instead of posting new answers. It is confusing if you don't respond below the "that" you have tried.

Step 5 - Block openoffice.org-ure and libreoffice-ure package updates

Why do we need to block this?

There is no Post a comment link under many Answers otherwise I would have used it. I have a Dell 64-bit with Fedora 19 using Firefox. I have a Post Comment button from my Android though.
