I read in f19 Virtualization Getting Started Guide

In Fedora 19, shared storage is not necessary for storing guest images to be migrated.

Can you show me an example with local storage both from command line and virt-manager?

A personal additional curiosity, does anybody know if offline virtual machine migration without shared networked storage work for RHEL/CentOS 6.4 as well?

Offline in this particular example, means:

  • copy vm_hdd to another machine
  • on 1st machine: virsh dumpxml vm_name --migratable > file.xml
  • on 2nd machine: virsh create file.xml

@artur-symczak What should I do to give the right permissions for the newly copied image in the second machine ?
