I recently installed Fedora 19 to a mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" with Retina display. No wireless, so followed various postings that involve adding a Russian Fedora repo and installing a 'EiskaltDC++' package from it. And it did solve the Broadcom wireless problem. However, whenever there is any network traffic (most especially downloads), screen flicker on the laptop itself (not an attached monitor) is very, very bad. Putting a usb wireless device on the Mac and disabling the Broadcom makes the flicker go away - so pretty strong evidence that something in the eiskaltdcpp package is the culprit. Suggestions would be appreciated.

The EiskaltDC++ package is not in either RPMFusion or the standard Fedora repositories. These are the only two repositories that we advise people to use.

You'll have to contact Russian Fedora about their packages.

From what I see on the project website, EiskaltDC++ doesn't appear to be anything related to broadcom at all! Most broadcom hardware works with the linux STA driver if not out of the box.

I would advise getting rid of the EiskalDC++ package since it's causing your issue, and using the broadcom STA driver from RPMFusion if your hardware is supported.
