Yesterday I did an update of the system which updated the kernel to 3.10.3. Since them I'm unable to start gnome. When I go back to 3.9.9 I can boot into gnome 3 again.

I suspect maybe a video driver issue, but I can't be sure.

I also have this kind of problem with Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Asus zenbook UX31A) Now I have to uninstall kernel 3.10 and use 3.9 kernel instead.

Hi, I have the same issue on the Zenbook and posted another question about that: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/question/29186/black-screen-after-upgrade-to-kernel-310/

I'm just using 3.9 for now, seems to work fine. When I have some time I'll probably go back to the default drivers.

I have the Intel HD Graphics 4000 (some random ultrabook), and it seems to work OK on first boot, but when it wakes up from sleep, the X server doesn't look too good until I kill it with CTRL+ALT backspace.

the catalyst 13.6 beta driver is not good for kernel versions greater than 3.9...

the catalyst 13.4 driver is not good for Xorg versions greater than 1.13...

The catalyst driver is from AMD. Fedora has no control over it. You'll have to file a bug with ATI. The akmod package is just the driver they provide in rpm form.

Thank you guys. I will probably revert to the default drivers for now.

I have an asus ux31A with the same issues with 3.10.5 and 3.10.4 - haven't troubleshot it until today.

running: systectl restart gdm fixes it, so I added it to root's cron

@reboot /bin/systemctl restart gdm
