Hi, I have installed Fedora 19 64-bit version and i'm using gnome. I'm trying to change brightness of the screen, there's no option shown in settings menu. Also, i'm unable to change screen resolution. I had no problems with screen resolution in Fedora 17, the screen resolution used there was 1376x768 whereas in Fedora 19 it's 1024x768 and display looks large.

have you checked the power and display settings? the power settings should give you the options for display brightness, the display settings should provide the screen resolution options. If you have no power options, maybe you need to install gnome-power-manager.

Hi, i installed gnome-power-manager. But, still no use. There's no options for changing display brightness and keyboard keys to change brightness aren't working. In display settings, the maximum resolution shown is 1024x768. But, i have Fedora Verne running along where the screen resolution is 1366x768.

Finally i found this post( and it seems to solve both the problems.

Closing as duplicate in that case. Thank you.

So here we have two cases. Case 1. You got a Desktop PC, in which you can control brightness with the buttons of your display. Case 2. You got a Laptop, whose brightness you can control using the proper key combination specified on it. Just look for the functions hidden in your keyboard, they should resemble a sun.

Hi, I'm using Dell Inspiron N5050(laptop). I have already tried the key combinations given on keyboard. Except for the brightness changing keys every other thing works(like volume up/down, wifi on/off).
