Hey, I installed cinnamon desktop, but found out that there's no extension for nemo to provide me with an option to right click items and compress/extract files just like in Nautilus and the file roller extension. I couldn't find anything in repositories.

Is there a way to enable this? Thanks.

There is a file roller extension available: https://github.com/linuxmint/nemo-extensions/tree/master/nemo-fileroller but it doesn't appear to be packaged for Fedora yet.

I don't use cinnamon so I can't package this up for you. Would you like to package it up and make it available in Fedora?

Thanks for the answer and thanks for the link; sadly I never did any packaging, so I don't think I'm the right man for the job, but I'll look into it, though.

@chickenfish: No worries. I'll see if I can catch someone to package it in the future. Sorry it isn't available yet. :(

Hey, no need to apologize. I'm just glad it exists at least :)

@FranciscoD_: And I just noticed in the first link you provided, that there are other useful extensions such as dropbox. While not vital, do you think those will be available in the future as well?

@chickenfish: All of them can be packaged. The only problem is someone actually volunteering to package them. I talked to the nemo maintainer over IRC last night, and he said he just didn't have the time to package and maintain the extensions himself. I intend to give a shout out and hope someone will pick them up, but there really isn't a guarantee or a time frame at present.

Try to search for extensions packages: $ yum search nemo

On fedora 19, I did this: sudo yum install nemo-fileroller
