FC18 upgrade using existing FC17 multiboot parition

Hi, have a system running FC17(using Multiboot), desire upgrade to FC18. Desire to keep existing FC17 partitions. Also FC17 has a / 39GB parition where /boot exists - appears FC18 wants /boot to be a separate ext4 filesystem. Also FC18 insists on using all existing space on the disk, and wil not change it to smaller size when setting up the LUKS LVM2 parition. current FC17 /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Boot Using External USB Hitachi 1TB Disk. Internal DVD has FC18 Full Install Media
