Move user settings to a new computer?

I have just got a completely new computer, I installed Fedora 18 on it, the same KDE spin as I used on my old gear. Can I simply copy the home folders to keep my settings, preferences and whatnot, or am I just creating more trouble than setting up everything again from scratch? I guess it's an easy one, but I just could not goole an obvious answer....

You should be able to just reuse your home folder settings without any trouble. This is a quite common thing to do among Linux users. It is not perfect since we might have some components that do not parse old configuration files correctly when the format changes but these are just bugs and can be dealt with as needed.
