Hey, So, I have really, really bad connection when using Fedora-18. It is rock solid while I am using the Win-7 installation, and likewise it was good with XP-64. I'm.. utterly new to this Linux thing, so really don't know where to start troubleshooting. Could it be a driver issue? Where would I find out? Could it be some other configuration issue? What is my best course of action to resolve this?

Further info: WiFi is the RTL8187 on the Asus M2N32-SLI motherboard. Router is the [whateveritis] from Sky Broarband (Sagem, I think?). Connection from Fedora works well for maybe 3-5 mins, and then falls over. It worked well (as I remember) when I was using the live distro, but now it's installed it seems to fall over itself.

This post was bought to you by a well-behaved Windows Machine (but not ie... hahaha)

Check your dmesg, /var/log/messages before and right after your system drops connection and add it to your question description so we can have a look. It could be a bug but we'll only know after we've had some more information.

Stupid question time: How? 'messages' is an unrecognised file type, and the only method I have found for opening it is in the console - and it is quite a large file (Has a bunch of stuff about nouveau on it.. the process I followed for installing nVidia drivers is supposed to have got rid of that?? ugh. Linux is less familiar than a new pair of shoes). On a positive note, I am actually typing this right now, on Fedora. The wifi has not broken.. yet. Have I cursed it? Hrmmmm....

sudo egrep -i "error" /var/log/messages. I don't know about nvidia drivers. You haven't told us what you did. I'm hoping it was from rpmfusion, and not the binary from the website.
