First of all I used this question here to install akmod.

Now I have a new issue with this, namely direct rendering seem to not work, any idea on how to fix this?

For information:

glxinfo | grep direct
X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
Major opcode of failed request: 153 (NV-GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 4 ()
Resource id in failed request: 0x4600003
Serial number of failed request: 33
Current serial number in output stream: 33

By the way, I am running Fedora-18 64-bit.

Can you post some content from /var/log/Xorg.0.log ? Usually, this file will log problems with video drivers loading.

I see some errors loading the driver in there. To start with, please install kmod-nvidia in addition to akmod-nvidia (it won't hurt to have both), reboot, run nvidia-xconfig to create an xorg.conf, reboot, and look things over with nvidia-settings.
