Fedora is my second Linux distro *(prior to this I was on Ubuntu)*. I find fedora better than Ubuntu, many apps are installed already which I need.

One thing I am noticing that, when I use same font with same size (as it was on Ubuntu) the appearance is difference. Fonts only appear good when I set them to certain pixels (otherwise they are either too bold or too thin). On Ubuntu they appeared healthy on any size.

Here is the output of *rpm -qa | grep font | sort*

Where are the fonts appearing dirty? Title bars? Documents? Web text? Everywhere? I'm just curious if it's system-wide or could be some offending program/library.

@wholevin Until now I have seen them in terminal, and in my browser. I don't know if they appears elsewhere because its matter of sizes. Fonts at certain pixels size don't appear bad.

@Santosh The reason I ask is I had something similar happen one time, and it was caused by installing a dependency of some other package I wanted. Some weird font-related rpm was pulled in that totally screwed up my existing fonts...

It's a shot in the dark, but post an "rpm -qa | grep font | sort" in your original question and we'll see if anything is strange looking.

I'm also an Ubuntu user and think the fonts in Fedora are not as good as in Ubuntu. I decided to install ubuntu fonts in Fedora. http://font.ubuntu.com/

I'm not really sure. My fonts seem to look OK. You could try the steps given here. Alternatively, you could also file a bug or talk to the fonts sig for more information here
