The software updates will not download or install. Everytime I click on the download button it gives me an error code, and the button turns into a Restart & Update button but that doesn't do anything other than rebooting my OS with the same software versions I had before attempting to update them, making me stuck with the outdated software.

The error code is shown in the attached image. Help much appreciated.

EDIT: I don't see my attached screenshot so here is a Dropbox link:

It look likes an old bug in the fwupd like you read in this link

It was solve with this (

If the file /usr/local/etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.fwupd.conf is copied into /etc/dbus-1/system.d the error goes away.

Additionally the following steps make it go away:

Create /etc/dbus-1/system-local.conf with following contents
Reload dbus daemon
systemctl reload dbus.service

But before you try it you can try update from console: First clean cache: sudo dnf clean all && sudo dnf upgrade if it didnt the work you can try update the firmware manually to see if there is an update to do or if it run at all.

if fwupd is installed like it look likes, you can do:

sudo service fwupd start
sudo fwupdmgr refresh
sudo fwupdmgr update

If it didnt works either try the fist step i hade indicated.

A bit more of info about fwup can be find here :

I hope this can help you.
