Hi, I just installed firewall-config via dnf, but when starting it, I get an error messages saying that

[joachimrosenberger@ga74diq ~]$ firewall-config
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/firewall-config", line 47, in <module>
    from firewall import client
  File "/usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/firewall/", line 29, in <module>
    import slip.dbus
  File "/usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/slip/dbus/", line 8, in <module>
    from . import service
  File "/usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/slip/dbus/", line 34, in <module>
    from . import polkit
  File "/usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/slip/dbus/", line 31, in <module>
    from decorator import decorator
  ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'decorator'

I did

dnf provides '*python-decorator*'

And found the package python-decoratortools and installed it. But the error stays the same... Any idea?

You need these packages, and yes, python packagenaming is absurd.

python2-decorator-4.2.1-1.fc28.noarch python3-decorator-4.2.1-1.fc28.noarch

Why absurd? Python version2 and Python version 3 is somewhat incompatible, and as there are still packges which needs Python version 2 Fedora still needs to provide this version. At the same time there is an ongoing effort to upgrade to version 3 so Python version 3 also needs to be provided. Thus, a lot of Python library packages needs to be provided in both version 2 and version 3 and the names python2-decorator and python3-decorator makes perfectly sense.

python3-decorator is the package that needs to be reinstalled.

it's not consequent, still having python-* packagenames around does not make things easier for all.
