Just trying installing Fedora 29 on my brand new Acer Nitro 5 (with a blank SSD inside). This is not fun, one failure after another. Tried to install Workstation Live USB and KDE Plasma Spin Live USB, in either graphical mode or text mode, the display hangs when the installer is supposed to kick off (in text mode I can switch to another shell using Alt_Ctrl_F6, but that one gives me nothing). Searched it and it looks to be some nvidia issue (or Fedora issue with nvidia). Only image that seems to work is the net.install. Started that one, the installer starts OK. In several attempts I selected either Workstation or KDE Plasma (with or without additional components), installation starts but whenever it gets to install udisks2 rpm I see the USB drive (on which the image is) blinking, and then the installer hangs. Forever. No key combination works, it just hangs and the SSD drive activity stops. I can move the mouse around but that's it. Power off is the only way out. Tried 5-6 times with and without different components, all but one fail on this rpm (one failed on another rpm). If anyone has an idea, I'd appreciate it. I really want to try out Fedora, but I cannot get the installer to complete. Thank you.
