I've installed the hplib-gui package and installed it. However, it does not recognize my HP Envy 7800 multi-function printer. Is it not supported yet? It shows up under settings->devices->printers.

As far as I can see this printer supports AirPrint. And cups is also capable to talk to AirPrint printers, also called IPP Everywhere, you could try this.

From the man page of lpadmin:

Create an IPP Everywhere print queue:

           lpadmin -p myprinter -E -v ipp://myprinter.local/ipp/print -m everywhere

You may need to run avahi on your system for this to work,

The HP Linux Imaging and Printing page lists it as included in hplip although it's end-of-life.
