I use Fedora 29 on my thinkpad W540. The system freezes randomly and back to normal after a few seconds, I've had this sever times per hours, it's so boring.

I have seen this Bug: #1571330 , but I don't know it will be useful: "try booting with ahci.mobile_lpm_policy=0 kernel command line." I do not know how to do it . please help me , tell me how to do.

I've the same issue with my W540.

Just edit the following file with root rights:

sudo vim /etc/default/grub

and add "ahci.mobile_lpm_policy=0" in the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX:

for example: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=" {...} ahci.mobile_lpm_policy=0 rhgb quiet"

Then you need to rebuild grub (depends on UEFI or not)

grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg

grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
