I ran DNF UPDATE a few days ago and it appears to have killed the smb service.

testparm shows no issues

systemctl status smbd returns the following

smb.service - Samba SMB Daemon
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/smb.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Tue 2018-05-22 21:51:16 CDT; 6min ago
     Docs: man:smbd(8)
  Process: 1047 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/smbd --foreground --no-process-group $SMBDOPTIONS (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
 Main PID: 1047 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)

Use dnf history on the terminal and check if there was SELinux

@jkredman , you should go deeper visit this post to do it -> how-do-i-view-logs-on-fedora , execute in terminal journalctl _SYSTEMD_UNIT=samba.service
