I have tried 4 different USB drives, downloaded the Fedora 29 image 4 times and verified the .iso 4 times. However when I boot and verify they all fail at 4.8% I have tested the media on two different computers. Any idea on what could be going on?

If all your usb pens fail verification at 4.8% there is CLEARLY something wrong, don't you agree? Start by checking out again the iso, then the method you use to create the usb pen. Read this link

Thanks I've read it, a few times, I'll read it again. I check the iso everytime it downloads and I get the same sha256 that the website has. The 4 media I tried on I downloaded the iso fresh for each media and verified. I am writing with fedora media writer. And it fails consistently. If I put an .iso from Manjaro or Suse on the same media it boots fine. I'll try another media writer.

You dont need do do the test. Just up arrow to the thing that does not say test. If it dont boot into the system try a spin of fedora, then after the install, install your favorite desktop. Hope i could help!!

Well if I try to just launch fedora 29 the system hangs with a black screen and blinking cursor in the upper left corner of the screen. I will try a spin of fedora and see if that is any better.
