Hi! I have a HP Spectre x360 (df0709nz) with brand-new hardware.

Sadly, libinput doesn't recognize the touchpad. It only appears in lsusb as Bus 001 Device 003: ID 06cb:00bb Synaptics, Inc. and in hwinfo.

Here are some logs:

Software versions:

kernel: 4.19.2-300.fc29.x86_64

Can anyone help me?

# Edit: I opened an issue on libinput gitlab and they told me it's a kernel problem. So I reported a kernel bug.

I found a workaround: Simply add the boot parameter i8042.nopnp!

This may be off topic, but for people with the same laptop, it means you have to add the following boot parameters to get a usable system: nouveau.modeset=0, noapic and i8042.nopnp. (Touchscreen still doesn't work.)

UPDATE January 2019:

After updating to kernel 4.19.13 and enabling legacy boot support in df0709nz BIOS, I don't require i8042.nopnp and noapic anymore AND the touchscreen works! (Only nouveau.modeset=0 is still required for the graphics card if you use the nouveau driver.)
