I have been using Fedora since 2002. I have seen it improved so much these years. Now I am using it as the Data server. Lately I updated my system, for instance, migrating / upgrade to larger hard drives and partitions. Also incorporating the new LVM. However, after the latest update, my system could not boot properly. It went into emergency mode. I was really desperate to get it back to work. For about 2 weeks, I could not get it back online, so I decided to reinstall the system using a fresh live image.

I downloaded Fedora 28 both Live image and Net install image. Used dd to Create USB disk. Both passed the media test, but upon opening the anaconda, the crash occurs. Anaconda appears not able to continue and the "bug reporting pop up window persists", I can't even close it or report the bug. The good news is that kernel 4.18.9 still works. So at least I can boot it to that kernel for now.

I do not know why this happens. The only thing I can report is the system build.

Intel Xeon E5-2650 x2 SAMSUNG 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM x4 ASRock EP2C602 SSI EEB Server Motherboard Dual LGA 2011 Multiple 3TB and 4TB SATA hard drives

The system configuration is not something special and should be well supported. The previous versions Fedora 25, 26, 27, and 28 were running great and smoothly. Although I installed Fedora 10 on previous machine, and upgraded all along until Fedora 28, and migrated to this system configuration, so I never had fresh installation on this system configuration.

I hope this is something can be fixed, please give me recommendations how to have fresh install on a machine like this.

Thanks!
