I am new (again) to Fedora. I just installed Fedora 28. I have just started studying Japanese. I want to know how to use the anthy input system to input Japanese kana and/or kanji.

I did a "man anthy," "man -k anthy," and "info anthy." There was no content to any of these queries. I would appreciate some pointers and/or links as to how to use this system.

Thank you.

Based on the advice of those of you who answered, I see that anthy is considered "dead upstream".

I am looking into libkkc and libllc-tools to provide a different, but still functional, way to input kana/kanji into X programs. I still am totally new to "ibus" and will have to learn how to use libkkc, as I know equally as little about it as I knew of anthy.

Thanks again.

If you run dnf search anthy, you see'll a few relevant packages.

Did you already install anthy and ibus-anthy? (that sounds like a good start)

sudo dnf install anthy ibus-anthy

I am not familiar with the matter, a quick search showed that you may benefit from libkkc as well, (dnf info libkkc).
