Fedora 28, I can login with the root password, but cannot $ su - root with the same password
Hi All,
I am encountering two issues with my Fedora 28: 1- The root PW working to log in as root, but the same PW doesn't work for $ su - root
2- I login as myself and I have wireless internet. I login as root and I don't
Please advise,
Many thanks for your good work!
Welcome to ask.fedora. Generally, if you need a complete root environment you'd use
su -
by itself as root is implied. Have you tried it that way?Re wifi, where are you logging in? Into your desktop or VT (tty)?
Did
su
work since installing F28? Could there be an alias or bad path at work? What doeswhich su
say? (It should say/usr/bin/su
.)
