I am having trouble dual booting Win10 and Linux to my Lenovo 330S
I partitioned my C: drive, downloaded a fedora 28 live boot to a thumb drive, and tried to boot it. When it starts, I get a stack dump as follows:
[Firmware Bug]: AMD-Vi IOAPIC[32] not in IVRS table
Kernel Panic - not syncing: timer doesn't work through Interrupt-remapped IO-APIC

For what it is worth, I got a very similar result with a Ubuntu 29 live boot.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Check if you have UEFI secure boot activated, it may be blocking some kernel module require on your pc. You could disable it and try to boot as a test.
In response to aeperezt's suggestion about UEFI secure boot, I have tried this with the BIOS set for UEFI, and for legacy boot.
I you did have the same error, then try to install with compatibility mode.
