I will try to lay my problem out plainly below.

The short version is that I have a laptop I'm using to dual boot windows 10 and fedora 28. I have previously had it working where when i restart im greeted with the grub menu which lists fedora and windows 10 as options.

I was using fedora last night, it gave me the option to update a list of items, not quite sure which ones. i put the computer into hibernate last night after updating, and this morning when i booted up the grub menu only lists windows 10 and no other.

Additional info

  1. My windows drive is a m.2 ssd
  2. my fedora drive is a regular ssd 250gig
  3. And i have a third drive for data

  1. Secure boot is turned off
  2. fast boot is also turned off
  3. boot order is setup where the 250gig with fedora is first
  4. all drives appear in my bios list

While in windows i cant interact with the drive at all, which is to be expected. So i was thinking maybe i just needed to add a menu entry to grub using the grub command shell i have access to. Not sure if that is actually the right course of action, and two I'm not sure how to do that, but i am currently looking into it. It seems most guides are telling me to do it from within Linux, which proves difficult since i cant access it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you, -Robert

If you want to go the route of editing the GRUB entries, use a Live-USB of Fedora or Ubuntu, mount the partition, edit the files.

Good luck!
