I want to know how to setup OpenVPN on Fedora 28 desktop (workstation) using a graphical interface?

First, I run the command dnf install openvpn in terminal and installed OpenVPN through the Network interface afterward. But when installed, it didn't connect.

Error: Connection failed Activation of network connection failed

I have installed PPTP and L2TP successfully and both are working fine.

If you are using GNOME, you go to Settings→Network→VPN and klick the +. After that you’ve got two options:

  • Import from file… This is the simpler variant. Your VPN provider probably does offer a configuration file (*.ovpn). Download the file, choose it from the dialogue, enter your credentials and it should just work™
  • OpenVPN If you choose this option, you have to manually enter all the relevant settings of your VPN provider. Consult their manual on which settings to choose. Enter your credentials, be sure to include a certificate and notice the Advanced button. If you make a mistake here you might get the error you mentioned.

It's very similar in both KDE Plasma and Cinnamon.
