Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with my Fedora+KDE and my two monitors, I have these two monitors connected to the dock station of my HP elitebook, the monitors work ok, the problem is that sometimes KDE generates wrong the desktop, in the left monitor I have the task bar but I don't have wallpaper or any kind of panel, on the right monitor I have the graphic element manager and the wallpaper, this happens just sometimes, before I worked with Linux Mint + KDE and at the beginning I had the same problem but they solved it with an update, Any idea or tip to solve this in Fedora? My video adapter is a integrated Intel graphics card.

Update: Hi everybody, Any idea about my problem? I keep the question open because I still have the same issue, it has to be something in the KDE session start, to get the desktop working ok I have to unplug one screen, close the session, plug the monitor again and then start the session again, and sometimes, I repeat this steps until it starts the desktop ok, any idea what could i be?

Thank you in advance.

Hi, welcome to Ask Fedora! Apart from installing latest updates, you can give Plasma 5.13 a try (it should be in stable soon anyway):

mkdir /tmp/plasma && cd $_ && bodhi updates download --updateid FEDORA-2018-6729457bc2 && dnf update *

Hi, thank you so much for answering, I will give a try and let see what happens, Could I go back to the original KDE in the super strange case that the system become unstable? I use this computer for working so I would prefer not to reinstall the whole system if anything goes wrong, again thank you very much for your answer ;)

Sure, dnf history can revert updates.

Ok, I'm installing it, I will let you know how it goes, I had to install the bohdi-client first but now I'm already in the middle of the KDE update :)

Ok, I have the last KDE installed, in the first restart the problem was still here, I specified in the screens settings that there is not a primary screen, I restarted the session and it worked correctly, due it's a random problem I have to keep checking if the problem is fixed permanently, if so, I will close the issue in a pair of days, thank you.
