Kernel 4.17 wifi usb restarts
I'm using an USB Wifi dongle (rtl8188eu) and it has been working fine with kernel 4.16.x. Once I upgraded to 4.17.x it "silently" crashes. I do not see any error on journalct. As far as I can tell, as long as I do not configure to connect to the wifi it is fine. Once I configure it to join a wifi network. It conects, hangs and after ~90'secs it enters into reboot. Boot -> connect Wifi -> hang -> reboot.
P.S. it does not matter in which USB port the dogle is connected to.
Update as of kernel 4.17.12 the bundled wifi driver (r8188eu) main issue now is during reboot in case I boot first to windows that the dongle does not start, it forces me to make a replug of the wifi dongle.
I'm experiencing the same problem, every thing works okay with kernel-lts or without using usb wifi with module rtl8188eu.
EDIT: also I compiled the module from git hub, that half resolve part of problem, the system doesn't instantly freeze anymore, but randomly will freezes anytime, without a log error in anywhere. Without using the usb wifi the randomly freezes doesn't occour.
