Fedora 26: Prevent the "gnome software center" from looking+notificating for updates parallel to dnf?

A similar question was asked in 2016 (How to Stop Fedora 24 Gnome Software Auto Updating?), but the suggested solution gsettings set org.gnome.software download-updates false doesn't have any effect for me.

I don't mind the software center being installed, but certainly the parallel notifications about updates are unnecessary.

I think you should also set org.gnome.software allow-updates to false as well. It works for me this way. So:

org.gnome.software download-updates false
org.gnome.software allow-updates false

Thank you, I think this did the trick
