httpd configuration issue in Fedora 28

Gets 404 error for files inside the project directory.

the fresh installation of fedora and httpd unlike ubuntu does not contain folders like sites-available.

No previous experience with httpd

Codebase was working fine on ubuntu machine

Please Help

It might be SELinux, that is the very aggressive built in Fedora security software that often goes too far with its security paranoia.

Try temporally disabling it, if that works then you have found the cause:


shows the status

sudo setenforce 0

stops it until reboot

also this might help solve the problem if it is SELinux to blame:

chcon -R unconfined_u:object_r:httpd_sys_rw_content_t:s0 ~/sites # tell SELinux that these files/directories are allowed to be modified by Apache
