In the install process one can check a box to 'Encrypt my data': https://fedoramagazine.org/how-to-enc...

However, is there an opportunity to do that with an already installed system?

I do see this thorough post which seems to suggest that you still have to drop your data and restore it from a backup (eg no inplace encryption with data in tact - but I am not sure if this is still the latest advise): https://unix.stackexchange.com/questi...

Hi,

yes you still can do it, but the data on your partition(s) will be erased due to the encryption process

the encrypted partition(s) will have to be recorded in the /etc/crypttab and the /etc/fstab files

see the corresponding man pages for more details
