I have the below system and I cannot for the life of me get Linux to install.

  • AMD MSI Gaming 970 Mobo
  • AMD FX 8370 CPU
  • AMD Radeon R9 380
  • 32GB RAM
  • 240 GB SSD

I couldn't even get Ubuntu to install.

After I would get to the live user via USB, I would select install to HD and it would error out saying the os wasn't available on the usb for Fedora, Ubuntu and Kubuntu.

I did have W10 on the disk but I completely reformatted the drive.

Is there some where I can check for he compatibility if my hw?

I am certain I do not have Secure Boot enabled. I am also certain that I have been trying to install using legacy boot. In addition, the same thing happens when trying from a CD/DVD. So all of these suggestions are out.

Everytime, I can install to live user and then I click Install to Disk and the process fails. A black window appears and then disappears. I then try and click the install to disk from the dock and it gets to the first screen to select language and then an unknown error occurs. Which is literally, ancaconda payload loader fails because no osimg available. I have found this thread for the exact error but no resolution as I am not installing on RAID and the default config for the I/O is AHCI. It is like at some point between mounting the live user the image is lost or anaconda cannot find it.
