After Recent Fedora 27 update- Xfce seems to be all over the place?

After a recent Fedora 27 update, I could not login except via tty. I tried reinstalling Xfce which is the Fedora spin I have used for years, but I could not get it to do anything at all.

In the end I did a complete re-installation of Fedora 27 Xfce spin 64 bit version. Whilst I can now login via the Gui, I still cannot get Xfce to play ball completely. Using screenshot goes straight to the save to section, so cannot control what is captured.

Also, when I minimise any window, drive, command line dialogue it just disappears?

Has anyone else had similar experience, and if so.. Is there a cure?

I am not a newbie, having been using linux for years, but not a complete expert either.. :)

Do you have the 27 repos mixed with Testing repos? I get that issue on some distros when newer packages are "broken".

I have been noticing how great the latest version of XFCE is working. I did switch display managers from LightDM to SDDM due to issues with LightDM. Those sort of random issues you cite make me wonder if you may be having a hard drive or memory failure?

No, Fedora 27 xfce spin 64 bit was working fine until after the update! First of all, I thought it was my fault, but finally realised that it had to be the update. I have tried reinstalling xfce etc. all to no avail. As soon as Fedora 28 came out, I did a DNF upgrade to release=28 but it did not cure the problem.

So I downloaded a copy of the Fedora 28 iso and installed it, but didn't like the new changes made to the program. So I installed a fresh clean copy of Fedora 27 xfce spin 64 bit from iso. Finally, a result. Everything worked correctly.

Last night I did an update, and this morning it's all gone to hell again. I believe it's a problem with the latest kernel and xfce.. But cannot find out what?

Also I don't know how to go back in time and reverse the updates.. :(

I'd suggest creating a new user to see if the issues persist there on a clean XFCE desktop before we begin to diagnose the issue.
