while reseting root password in grub linux16 in not there?

here in grub while editing for root password linux16 is not available in fedora 27

I assume you are referring to the recent article in the Fedora Magazine?

Your line may start with


instead of linux16. That's usually the case on EFI-based systems.

There may be an easier way to achieve the same. If your user is a sudoer (a user able to use the sudo command), you can simply execute: sudo -i (Now you are in a root shell). Here, you type passwd to change root's password.
