So I am looking for the best drivers to use with the MX150 on a T480? I do not care much about the mx150 and more for the battery life. I am using fedora 27 gnome

Thank you.

The open source nouveau drivers are already installed.
These drivers are working pretty fine for "normal" usage.
NVIDIA Optimus technology is supported out-of-the-box.

By default the intel GPU is in use, the NVIDIA is powered off.
When you mainly care about battery life, the setup is perfect.
You can select to launch applications using the NVIDIA GPU.

So, if you don't "care much about the mx150" card, there is nothing you have to do.
In case you need more performance, you can install the proprietary NVIDIA drivers.
There are two options which are offering an easy way to install the NVIDIA drivers : NVIDIA drivers repository or RPM Fusion NVIDIA drivers repository

If you don't care about MX150, disable it in BIOS (GPU mode -> Itegrated, or something like that) and you'll be using only the energy efficient Intel iGPU. It's using upstream open-source drivers, so all necessary drivers are those already coming with Fedora.

More details:

I just saw your other question, if you'll be using Nvidia GPU on Windows from time to time then, unless everything is fine out of the box (in case nouveau support for MX150 is in good enough shape to successfully power it down), your next best solution is Bumblebee.

You can use powertop to check laptop's power consumption on battery.
