Gnome crashes when USB plugged in

Whether it's Kindle or USB stick, or Kindle, or any USB cable, as soon as I plug it in, Gnome crashes and I cannot log in as long as the USB is IN. When rebooting, it won't boot fedora.

The hell is that?

I expect that you are using the Places menu extension. There is a known bug about this. You can either disable the extension or replace the .js file as described in that bug report. Make sure you reload gnome-shell after replacing the file. ALT-F2, then enter "r" which might not work on Wayland. If not, then logout and log back in.
