[F27] Network Thoughput capped?

Hello,

I have been tried for quite a while to figure out why one of my computers (a three year old Intel NUC) does not seem to get past 2MB/s in internet thoughput. My laptop doing the "same tests", also running F27, but on wifi compared to the hardwired Intel NUC connection easly maxes my line at 7-8MB/s.

running "ifconfig" i get this "error" under eno1:

device interrupt 20 memory 0xf7d00000-f7d20000

thinking it might be the harddrive, running "smartctl -H /dev/sda1" i get:

=== START OF READ SMART DATA SECTION ===
SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED
Please note the following marginal Attributes:
ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAG VALUE WORST THRESH TYPE UPDATED WHEN_FAILED RAW_VALUE
179 Used_Rsvd_Blk_Cnt_Tot 0x0013 100 001 010 Pre-fail Always In_the_past 0

I have checked the mail firewall and there are no capping in place.

Any bright ideas would appreciated :) Thank you!

Find out what Ethernet adapter is used in the NUC. Once you have that information Google it to see if there are complaints about poor performance with that particular adapter.

I have an old laptop here that is painfully slow with regard to Ethernet and internet activity. Wifi is fine.

Turns out there is a known issue with the driver for the Ethernet adapter. In the end, at least in my case, there is no apparent solution.

The NIC is an Intel I218-V. However, i tried to disable the hardwired connected and used the NUC's WiFI (Intel WIreless 7260) and the same problem persists. Download speed appears capped at around 26-27Mbits/sec, while upload on BOTH the WiFi and Hardwired connection appears to be fine.
