I have just upgraded from Fedora 26 to 27 (MATE desktop). I have discovered that when I try to annotate a .pdf file on a network drive in Foxit Reader 2.4.1 (the current version), the program appears to successfully save the document. If I try to modify the document again, or close the document or program and save it again I get a "Failed to save document" message. In order to close the program I must force close it. It leaves behind the ~filename.pdf temporary file.

This problem does not occur if I am saving to a local drive. This problem does not seem to occur with Pluma or Libre Office Writer.

If this problem doesn't appear with other software writing files to the network location, it is probably a problem with Foxit Reader. I'd ask the makers of Foxit. Or maybe you want to try some free PDF software from Fedora's repositories?
